yes, i have met people. i was able to crash at L and YS's home just outside of amsterdam central. i met L from the the vietnamese boys i had met that one night. i never saw those two vietnamese guys after that night. anyways leon offered me to stay at their place after learning i was staying at a hostel. also showed me where to go and stuff.
i also met a few of his friends. he had another friend, sander, staying with him. sander looks like a of friend in seattle. he was coming to amsterdam from dublin to go to another friend's birthday party. he is ethnically chinese from indonesia, lived in amsterdam for many years and had moved with his partner to dublin.
also met another guy, michael. i had a really good time hanging out with michael. he is half vietnamese half dutch. growing up he did not learn vietnamese and several years ago decided he wanted to speak vietnamese and started learning. so when he found out that i'm vietnamese, he wanted to practice. i had never met a vietnamese who wanted to practice their vietnamese with me. and for someone who wasn't exposed to it growing up, his accent is pretty good. i was able to understand him even when we both are stumbling to find the right words. though we spoke mostly english next couple days when i went out with him and his friend and showing me other aspects of amsterdam.
so thanks to L and YS for letting me sleep at their place, come and go when ever, showing me around and introducing me to great people.
