what that is, is an uneaten calamari sandwich in my hostel mate's bag. we stopped be a bar/restaurant to get a quick snack before heading to the cemetary (yes, again). amanda didn't like the calamari sandwich. after all it is just calamari in bread, which wasn't very good bread anyways. she didn't want to leave it there, so i suggested she put it in her bag and i'll eat it later. it was great, we were being totally trashy, trying to sneak the sandwich in her bag. they probably saw us do it to. outside, i told her she can dump it if she wants. we again try to sneak the food into a trash can as if it was shameful, us americans.
spent the rest if the afternoon wondering the graveyard of the madrid cemetary with the hostel mates i meet last night. cemetaries are amazing in europe. what is also great about them is it's a nice, quiet place to go on a nice sunny day to get away from the busy city. there are less people than the parks and always interesting sights. the one in madrid isn't as impressive as paris, but it is huge. we got so lost in the sea of dead people. it was interesting that near the entrance off to the side there was a distinct smell of formaldahide.
